Orlando Weekly’s ‘Restaurant Week’ Gets Mayor’s Official Seal of Approval

It’s official, May 1-7, 2009 has been proclaimed “Restaurant Week” in Orlando by Mayor Buddy Dyer.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by the mayor,” said Graham Jarrett, advertising director at Orlando Weekly and organizer of Restaurant Week. “When we began this three years ago, our goal was not only to help our best restaurant clients attract new customers, we wanted to bring the City of Orlando a signature dining event on par with Restaurant Weeks in other major US cities, from New York to LA. We wanted to create a citywide event that excites our citizens and stimulates our economy. The first two years were very successful, but with this proclamation, I feel Restaurant Week has been elevated beyond an Orlando Weekly promotion to the City’s signature food event.”

Restaurant Week features three-course prix fixe menus from restaurants ranging from O’Boys Bar-B-Que to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, at price points of $10, $15, $25 and $35. For a complete list of restaurants and menus, go to www.orlandorestaurantweek.com.
