November 9, 2005–AWN has issued another statement regarding the New Times & Village Voice Media merger:
The AWN board continues to work diligently to ensure that the upcoming transition in representation of VVM is as smooth as possible for AWN’s accounts and members. As part of that process, the board has voted to remove the suspension of VVM publications, pending the execution of a definitive termination agreement with a target date of November 30.
In addition, we are diligently preparing for 2006: arranging coverage of all of VVM’s accounts; working strategically in competitive markets to improve AWN performance; and exploring new memberships and alliances in markets previously covered by VVM publications.
