Today, June 13, is the last day to register for the 2014 AAN Convention in Nashville at the member rate of $225 per person.
Equally important, today is also the deadline to reserve a room at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown at the AAN group rate of $179 per night. The hotel will not extend the deadline, and rooms are filling up fast, so if anything, reserve your room before you register for the conference.
AAN’s 37th annual convention will take place July 10-12 and will be hosted by Nashville Scene. Confirmed speakers include Penny Abernathy (Knight Foundation), Melissa Bell (Vox Media), Justin Ellis (Nieman Journalism Lab), Dr. Michelle Ferrier (Scripps College of Communication), Mike Sager (Esquire), Paul Taylor (Pew Research Center), and Gregg Zachary (Walter Cronkite School of Journalism).

“In between sessions, we’ll show you the best our city has to offer,” says Nashville Scene publisher Mike Smith. “Perhaps you’re a little suspicious of the sheer amount of effervescent/effusing praise that’s been heaped upon Music City, but let me be the first to tell you: It’s all true.”
After today, members can still register at the regular rate of $350 per person. Any paper which pays for four registrations may register additional staffers at no extra charge.
