Madison, Wis. — The Madison Advertising Federation, an organization committed to the development of the advertising, marketing and communications community in the greater Madison area, has recently announced the winners of the 2008 ADDY® Awards. Isthmus took home three Silver ADDY® Awards for the 2007 Fall Abode magazine cover, the Madison’s Favorites editorial spread in Annual Manual 2007 and the Isthmus Personals & Diversions print ad campaign.
Production design artist and photographer Emily Denaro was excited to win her first and second Addy®. “I am pleased that the breadth of my work, from graphic design to copywriting and photography, was recognized by the Madison Ad Federation.”
The awards were presented Saturday, February 23 at the Overture Center for the Arts. From March 8-March 31, the best of the ADDY Gallery will be open to the public at Extra Bold Portfolio School located at 121 S. Pinckey Street. An Opening Reception will be hosted on Friday, March 7 from 4-8 pm. The entries then move on to the 8th District regional competition, which includes Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Isthmus creative director and designer Ellen Meany was happy to win her fourth and fifth ADDY®: “It’s really nice to have locally focused work recognized by a locally focused group like Madison Ad Fed.”
The ADDY Awards are unique among other advertising creative competitions. It is the only competition that includes three levels of judging: local, regional and national. It is also the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the advertising industry.
