Las Vegas CityLife editor Steve Sebelius is leaving to reprise his role as political columnist with the daily Las Vegas Review-Journal, which is owned by the same parent company as CityLife. Sebelius has been CityLife's editor since 2005 and currently serves on AAN's Editorial Committee.
In a farewell column, Sebelius recounted the paper's 2008 admission into AAN, an accomplishment that was achieved "despite tough opposition from those who disdained our corporate owners."
He said it was his suggestion to return to the position he held from 2000 to 2005:
I sought a return to the pages of the R-J to pursue full-time what’s always been my first love, writing about politics. I’m very grateful that the paper’s new publisher, Bob Brown, and new editor, Mike Hengel, saw merit in the idea.
Friday will be Sebelius' last day with CityLife.
