Phoenix Media/Communications Group — the parent company of AAN publications Boston Phoenix, Portland Phoenix, and Providence Phoenix — is being sued by Facebook for patent infringement.
Facebook claims that Phoenix Media websites’ search engines for band, restaurant and event listings violate its patents.
Facebook also charges its patent is violated by a Phoenix search engine that lets users specify exactly what sort of sex acts they want to see in X-rated videos catalogued by the Phoenix’s adult sites.
Last October, Phoenix Media sued Facebook for infringing on its patents for publishing online profiles.
