Riverfront Times managing editor Sarah Fenske has been named as one of four Livingston Award winners — and the recipient of a $10,000 prize — for a 2010 investigative piece that was published in the Phoenix New Times, where she was a staff reporter at the time:
New York Times Washington bureau chief, Dean Baquet introduced Fenske’s investigation of the housing director of Maricopa County, AZ that revealed flagrant nepotism, cronyism and other corruption that forced his resignation and the reorganization of the department.
The Livingston Awards are given out to journalists under the age of 35 for excellence in local, national and international reporting.
