Craig Malisow of the Houston Press and Jeff Prince of Fort Worth Weekly were honored as Journalist of the Year in their respective divisions.

Jackson Free Press co-founder and editor Donna Ladd was one of "six exceptional individuals" who received a Fannie Lou Hamer Humanitarian Award on Friday.
