AAN Board Elections Set Nine Seats Up For Election At This Year’s Annual Meeting AAN has announced that elections will be held on Saturday, May 29 for nine positions on the association’s Board of Directors. The vote will be held during the organization’s annual meeting, which is scheduled on the final day of the 1999 AAN convention in Memphis.

The following seats will be up for election:

–President
–Vice-President
–Advertising
–Convention
–Editorial
–First Amendment
–Marketing/Publicity
–Organization/Bylaws
–At-Large Seat

All of the positions are two-year terms, except for the Convention and Marketing/Publicity chairs, which are one-year seats.

AAN members who are interested in running for one of these seats may contact the AAN office (202/822-1955) to announce their candidacy.

Potential candidates who contact AAN by Friday, April 23 will be profiled in the May issue of AAN News. AAN members who do not announce their candidacy in advance may still run for a position on the Board if they are nominated from the floor during the annual meeting.

AAN members who are interested in learning more about the responsibilities of a Board position can call AAN Executive Director Richard Karpel or any current Board members. In addition, members who are interested in serving on one of AAN’s standing committees can call Karpel or the present chairperson of the committee.

Members may also volunteer for committee positions during the convention. Sign-up sheets for each committee will be posted in the registration area throughout the convention.
