New Orleans’ Gambit revealed a redesign of its print edition this week. Editor Kevin Allman explains:
“New Orleans now has two daily papers slugging it out to break news. We thought this was a good chance to differentiate ourselves as a paper that not only reported on news and arts, but also provided analysis of the previous week and told people what was coming up.â€
“We’ve always done picks and recommendations, of course, but we’re taking a new curatorial approach to the news as well. A new weekly feature is called ‘I-10’ (named for the interstate that runs through the city), and we’re billing it as ’10 things you need to know this week.’ It encompasses everything from politics and city government to the arts and sports, boiled down to the basics for people who might not read a daily paper.â€
“The redesign was executed by art director Dora Sison and her team, who did a great job.â€
