The 32nd Annual AAN Convention will take over Tucson’s JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa on Thursday, June 25 for two and a half days of programming, parties and networking. The Weather Channel is currently predicting daytime highs of 100-plus degrees next week, but it’s a dry heat, of course, and the evenings look pleasant, dipping to desert lows in the 70s.
The convention website is the place to look for the most up-to-date information, whether on programming changes or on how to send your papers to the hotel for the newspaper display.
While attendance this year will be down as a result of the recession, the financial blow has been softened by generous sponsorships from DesertNet, Google, Smub, Khor Vodka, Golden Eagle Distributing and Main Gate Square.
The trade show has proved resilient this year, with many longtime friends of AAN coming back and a number of first-time exhibitors with new and exciting products and services. Check out their links on the right side of the convention website, and be sure to visit their booths at the convention.
For those who aren’t renting a car (transportation to convention events will be provided, so there’s no need to rent a car unless you’re planning to do some traveling in the Tucson area) the easiest and most cost-efficient way to get to the hotel from the airport is to share a towncar, especially if you’re traveling in a group.
