Downtown building cost $600,000
The Weekly Alibi celebrates a decade in print by buying a building in downtown Albuquerque.
After years of expansion and working out of offices scattered in different buildings, the paper decided it was time for a move.
“Downtown is experiencing a revitalization, and we are huge backers and promoters of a strong downtown, so it made sense for us to make a real estate investment there,” says General Manager Dan Scott.
The Alibi bought the building from a local attorney for $600,000, and Scott says it immediately appraised for more than the purchase price.
Staff will be moving in early winter, Scott says.
