Someone by that name has called at least four convention and visitors bureaus (i.e., Shreveport, Albuquerque, Honolulu and Knoxville, Tenn.) asking for a proposal for the 2010 AAN Convention. At first we thought it might be someone from this outfit (we get stray emails from neurologists on a regular basis) but the CVB reps assure us that Mr. Ayers purports to speak for the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies.

We called and left a message at one of the phone numbers he provided, but when we called the number a second time the phone had been disconnected. We also emailed him at each of the three email addresses he proferred and so far only one has bounced. So perhaps Mr. Ayers will respond soon and let us know what kind of game he is playing. If he does, you can be sure that your intrepid blogger will report back pronto.
