AfroLA is solutions-focused, data-driven and community-centered journalism for Los Angeles, told through the lens of the Black community, and with emphasis on how news may disparately impact L.A.’s most vulnerable groups and communities of color.

We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit digital news outlet for Los Angeles. We don’t do breaking news and we don’t follow the churn of the 24/7 news cycle. We report for impact — with, by and for our communities. We aren’t just “Black news.” Our solutions journalism around inequalities, biases and accountability impacts everyone, and is for all Angelenos. Our goal is to provide coverage of issues that matter to anyone who reads it with a distinctly Black voice.
