We started Volume One Magazine in 2002 because no one in town was telling the stories we wanted to hear. We’ve kept it going all these years because, as it turned out, a lot of other folks from the area wanted to hear those stories, too.  Recognizing and reflecting the talent, diversity, culture, and creations of Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley – including Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie and points between – we produce a bi-weekly magazine and event calendar (plus many side publications); we maintain numerous social and digital channels; we run a large retail store selling locally made and inspired goods; and we host cultural events including a long-running free summer music series, classy cocktail parties, and flavorful food festivals. Our stories are about – and told by – locals who are dedicated to the growth of our community. We just as frequently wax poetic about our area’s Midwestern quirks and traditions as we lay out ideas for the future, asking serious questions about the direction our region is headed and where we want it to go.
