AAN members interested in registering for this fall’s Web Publishing Conference may now do so at the conference Web site, which went live this morning. Postcards promoting the event were mailed to members earlier this week; the conference theme is “Perestroika.”
The conference, which is open only to AAN members, will be held Oct. 5 – 7 at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco. It will open with a reception on Thursday evening, Oct. 5, and will end on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. Programming details are still being organized, but topics will include:
- Online Advertising Operations and Technology
- User-Generated Content
- Web-Publishing Legal Issues
- Multimedia
- Search-Engine Optimization
- Social Networking
- Writing and Editing for the Web
- Web-Publishing Revenue Models
- Web Analytics
- Web Site Usability
- Wireless Internet
In addition, several brief vendor presentations will be interspersed throughout the program. Vendors were selected to present and exhibit at the conference only if they have an application or service that will help to extend AAN members’ Web-publishing knowledge.
Registration can be completed online, or AAN members may download a PDF form to fax or mail. Registrations received in the AAN office by Sept. 12 will receive a discounted rate of $295 for the first registrant and $245 for each additional registrant. The costs will increase by $50 per person after the Sept. 12 cutoff date.
More details, including a schedule and hotel information, can be found on the Web site. Questions should be addressed to Debra Silvestrin, AAN’s Director of Meetings and Special Projects, at (202) 289-8484 or debra@aan.org.
