The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies today announced the tentative program for the Web Publishing Conference to be held October 5-7 at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco. Confirmed speakers include Thomas Burke, a lawyer with the firm Davis Wright Tremaine; Xavier Casanova, CEO of Perenety; Bruce Dobie, owner of Dobie Media LLC; Bowen Dwelle of AdMonsters; Michael Gold and Susan West of WestGold Editorial; R. Scott Horner, co-owner of Swarm Interactive; Thomas Kenney, president of Verve Wireless, Inc.; and Dave Morgan, the founder and chairman of Tacoda Systems.
Additional speakers and seminars will be announced soon. Most of the conference will be presented as a single program, although one or two concurrent sessions may be added to the schedule.
The Web Publishing Conference is open only to AAN members. The programming will be designed for publishers, senior managers, editors, Web-oriented design and production staff, and electronic-publishing personnel. The deadline for reduced rates for hotel rooms and conference registrations is September 12, 2006.
