Registration is now open for the 2011 Career Expo at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Join us on Sat. March 26, 2011 at Columbia University in New York City. This event is an opportunity to meet promising new journalists for your newsrooms. Our Career Expo has become the biggest journalism job fair in the nation, and space will be limited. If you plan to attend, we encourage you to register soon. Here’s a list of companies already registered: http://bit.ly/hHgBA7
Alternative weeklies have become the medium of choice for our magazine concentrators and many of our Master of Arts students. Our students know that the alts will give them the chance to work with editors who care about deep reporting and writing style. Our magazine concentrators receive expert training in long-form narrative and many develop investigative reporting skills. Our digital media concentrators are adept at multimedia storytelling and production; other students discover their voice as bloggers.
Even if you don’t have jobs or internships now, this is a chance to meet candidates for positions you’ll have later. It’s also a chance to listen to freelance story pitches: every year our students find homes for their theses and final projects. Or consider coming to network with other employers and demonstrate your commitment to journalism education.
