Mark your calendar: AAN’s Web Conference will return to San Francisco’s Argonaut Hotel January 26 – 28, 2012 for two and a half days of sessions and hands-on workshops.
AAN’s 35th Annual Convention will take place in Detroit, June 7 – 9, at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel.
The Web Conference will be expanded to include half-day “pre-conference” workshops on Thursday afternoon, followed by two full days of sessions, including:
- How to Build What’s Next for News:
Entrepreneurial Journalism, author Mark Briggs will discuss the intersection of journalism and entrepreneurship. It’s about the new business models for news and the startups and new projects that are flourishing around us, giving us a preview of what’s next for news. - Cool Shit With Data for Free:
We’ll explore cool tools to use data and graphics. - Trends in Ad Buying: Who’s buying what online?
- Tablets Are Here to Stay: What should we be developing, and how should we be developing for them?
Other planned sessions will include: Killer Video with your iPhone; 5 good minutes with Silicon Valley Smarties; Budgeting for Technology Realistically; and a Social Media Checkup.
