Coachella Valley Independent editor & publisher Jimmy Boegle is asking for community help in expanding the two-year-old publication’s news coverage and strengthening distribution.

“The vast majority of the funds we hope to raise will help us improve what we do best—journalism,” he writes. “The Desert Sun and other traditional news sources are continuing to get hammered by layoffs and cutbacks—making our job more important than ever.”

The campaign is running on Indiegogo and Boegle has set a goal of raising $10,000 by December 10.
