At AAN’s annual convention in Toronto, noted author and researcher Patricia Martin packed the room for her keynote based on her book: RenGen: Renaissance Generation. Now, she’s embarking on a new study that examines ways in which creative people are transforming their communities with culture-changing projects.
This fall, a national call for entries will invite citizen-generated video stories of the entrepreneurs, upstarts and artists who are remaking cities in unexpected ways. Participating newsweeklies will help get the word out. In return, video content of grass roots projects will be regularly distributed for use, along with a chance to have a local story showcased in a national series.
“Patricia really rocks!” said Jeff von Kaenel, President and CEO of News & Review. “I thought she gave tremendous insight into a new
generation.”
Interested papers can learn more about the project by participating in a 30-minute conference call September 8, 2010. For call-in details, email Patricia Martin at: pat@litlamp.com.
