Monterey County Weekly Blogging Its Progress Towards LEED Certification

As Monterey County Weekly works to achieve LEED platinum certification for its building in Seaside, Calif., assistant editor Kera Abraham is chronicling their progress in a blog:

By decree of Weekly Chairman and CEO Bradley Zeve—who’s prone to goofy eco-impulses, like outfitting the office roof with a 33-kilowatt photovoltaic system back in 2007—the building at 668 Williams Ave. is on track to become the first in the county to earn LEED-EB Platinum certification.

“We get a point for inter-office education, but only if you read the blog,” explained Abraham in a staff email, revealing an ulterior motive for the blog. “The next blog post will star a new toilet called ‘The Stealth,’ so stay tuned.”
