With well over 150 registrants from 20 AAN member publications, the 2010 AAN West conference, slated for Jan. 29-30 in Berkeley, is already exceeding expectations. Seats are limited, so interested publications should register their attendees soon to guarantee admission to the conference. Detailing programming information and links for registration can be found at this link.
The conference planning committee made of up Northern California alt-weeklies has spent over six months preparing strong programming in Business, Sales, Editorial and Production/Design tracks. After attendees receive intense training, they can enjoy a complimentary cocktail party on Friday night hosted by the East Bay Express, where you can try the paper’s new beer, the EBX Bleeding Heart Lager.
For those AAN members visiting the Bay Area for the Web Publishing Conference, you can join us Friday night for the cocktail party for only $25, or register for AAN West for only $100 and stay the weekend on the sunnier side of the Bay.
Lastly, if you are interested in a tour of the Express‘ office on Friday from 11-1pm (lunch provided), please contact Jody.Colley (at) EastBayExpress.com. The Express will do a workflow demonstration, showing the process and tools used from ad entry, dummying, to exporting to press. Other papers can also share their process and discuss ways to manage work efficiently and with accuracy.
