The Tucson Weekly editorial department hauled in 29 awards at the Arizona Newspaper Association’s annual convention this past weekend, including the award for General Excellence.

It won nine first-place awards and swept both the Investigative Reporting and Best Analysis or Commentary Column categories.

The paper’s advertising department also picked up a General Excellence award. It took home seven awards total, including first-place nods for Best Classified Section, Best Black-and-White Ad, Best Color Ad, and Best Online Ad.
