New York, NY — The Village Voice announces its first annual multidisciplinary arts extravaganza event, “Creative Block” hosted by Michael Musto. Creative Block will also be the official Obie Awards after party on Monday, May 18th at Webster Hall 125 East 11th Street in New York City.
“Creative Block” will run in tandem with the Obie Awards Ceremony, throughout various areas of the newly renovated and landmarked Webster Hall. Creative Block will feature different performances and visual arts that will occur simultaneously while the Obies are taking place in a separate event in the upstairs ballroom. Creative Block is an amalgamation of music, burlesque, digital art, performance art, fiber art, fashion by Art For Progress and much more hosted by Michael Musto with DJ Randy Bettis spinning.
Please note, the Obie Awards Ceremony is by invitation only and runs until approximately 10:30 pm. Following the awards ceremony, Creative Block will become the Obies after party — a culmination of performance and art celebrating with the newly minted Obie winners and the theater community.
Featured performers include: Joey Arias & Basil Twist, The Daisy Spurs, Gravity Plays Favorites, Una Mimnaugh, Sxip Shirey, Project Jenny, Project Jan, Jollyship the Whizbang and Filthy Gorgeous Burlesque hosted by Murray Hill, with performances by Angie Pontani (Miss Exotic World 2008), Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey, Tigger!, Lukki, Maine, Broadway Brassy, Little Miss Lixx and DJ Momotaro.
