Programming Announced for AAN East and AAN West

The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies today announced the speakers and events for our two staff training conferences. AAN West will be held Jan. 27-28, 2006 in San Francisco, and AAN East will be held Feb. 17-18, 2006 in Washington, D.C. Registration materials will be mailed to AAN’s primary contact person at each member newspaper for distribution. They should arrive the week following Thanksgiving. The early registration deadlines are December 30, 2005 for AAN West and Tuesday, January 17, 2006 for AAN East.

As a special bonus, the first 25 registrants in Design and Production for each conference will receive a CD-Rom titled “Prepress for Adobe Photoshop.” The eight-hour video, authored by Taz Talley, is from the lynda.com training library.

A brief summary of the daytime programming for the conventions is listed below. In addition, the San Francisco Bay Guardian is hosting free drinks on the closing night of AAN West.
