Cristina Craig mulls career in political journalism

Cristina Craig, a senior at George Washington University, has joined the staff of the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies.

Craig began working for AAN in September under an internship program from George Washington, assisting Communications Director Lyda Phillips.

She is involved in writing and editing AAN News, as well as in organizing the Alternative Newsweekly Awards and other association projects.

Craig is originally from Newport, R.I., and majors in both International Affairs and English. Last year she spent the year in London studying political journalism at the University of Westminster.

“I hope one day to use both my majors and perhaps combine them to write for a political journal,” she says.

Next year she plans to continue her studies in London or Paris.
