Stern Paper Gets Ten Prizes; Worcester Magazine Second With 8.
Making a strong showing for the second consecutive year, LA Weekly won ten of the forty-eight prizes handed out in the second annual AAN Advertising and Marketing Awards. Worcester Magazine won eight awards, followed by Willamette Week with six and Austin Chronicle, New Times Los Angeles and Washington City Paper with three each.
The winners were announced during a May 27 luncheon at the AAN convention in Memphis. The event was emceed by local ad agency head Ward Archer, Jr.
Judges for the awards were Allyson Butler, Media Director at August Lang & Husak, an award-winning Bethesda, Maryland advertising agency; Marcia Mitchell, a freelance writer/creative director; Rob Myers, co-founder of Ion Media, an award-winning design studio; and Serdar Sirtanadolu, a designer with The Dan Rosenthal Company.
