Eager eaters JonMichael Rasmus and Nichole Fromm are munching their way alphabetically through the restaurant guide of Madison's alternative weekly Isthmus, posting the results as they go on their popular Web site, Eating in Madison A-Z. The Wisconsin State Journal catches up with them at restaurant No. 202.
A humble sales guy for Boston's Weekly Dig by day, by night Alan Levesque plays bass and sings for The Radio Knives, a "primal garage rock" band. "It's the kind of thing that makes cave men jump up and down," Levesque tells The Boston Herald, which gives the trio props.
A 15-year veteran of D.C.-based publications, Davolt (pictured) will be responsible for the content of AAN.org and AltWeeklies.com. He served as a writer and editor at the Washington Business Journal from 1999-2005, followed by a stint at Employee Benefit News. Davolt is eager to bring his diverse experience to bear on his new job. "Given the forces of darkness arrayed against the free press right now, this is an exciting time to support alternative newsweeklies," he says.
