AAN Going to SHRM

First booth at recruitment expo

AAN has reserved a booth at the annual Society for Human Resource Management show June 23-25 in Philadelphia, the association’s first appearance at this major recruitment trade show.

Philadelphia City Paper and Philadelphia Weekly both will help staff the booth at the show, which attracts about 700 exhibitors a year including the major recruitment ad agencies.

“We plan to generate new leads for the member papers,” says Adam Ebbin, AAN’s director of marketing. “Both the marketing and classified committees wanted to target this huge industry that spends millions to recruit qualified personnel and in many cases overlooks alternatives.”

AAN will sponsor a drawing for attendees to win free recruitment advertising from members who agree to participate. AAN will also have a four-color information sheet aimed at recruitment professionals available at the booth, as well as the new AAN directory.

“In the last few years many recruiters have felt more pressure to get creative in their searches and produce results,” Ebbin said. “I’m eager to make them aware of the opportunity that alternatives provide to make them stand out.”

More information about the SHRM expo is available at shrm.org.

AAN has also sent recruitment data sheets, which outline alternative weekly demographics, to member papers for use on sales calls. More of these sheets are available on request to adam@aan.org.
