AAN’s Financials: The First Six Months of FY09

If you’re reading this you’re probably someone who pays pretty close attention to AAN, so you may already know that the AAN CAN classified advertising program plunged in FY08, and we ended the fiscal year on Sept. 30 with a $160,000 loss.

So we trimmed the FY09 budget by over 30 percent and began the fiscal year with a budget under $1 million for the first time since 1999. But through the first six months of FY09, AAN CAN has underperformed even our lowered expectations. Nevertheless, we have held down costs so we’re not far from where we should be at this point of the year, as you can see by downloading this PDF copy of our income statement through March 31.

And as long as we’re at it, here’s a PDF copy of AAN’s balance sheet as of March 31.

I will post AAN’s financials here on a monthly basis. Look for them around the middle of the month.
