Dana Faust Named Associate Publisher/Sales and Marketing at Seattle Weekly

SEATTLE, Wash. – Dana Faust has been named Associate Publisher/Sales and Marketing for Seattle Weekly. The Weekly is Seattle’s largest alternative weekly newspaper and a member of Village Voice Media.

VVM properties include The Village Voice, LA Weekly, Seattle Weekly, City Pages (Minneapolis-St. Paul), Cleveland Free Times, OC Weekly (Orange County, CA), and the Nashville Scene.

The announcement was made today by David Schneiderman, Chief Executive Officer of Village Voice Media.

In this newly created position, Ms. Faust will lead the advertising and sales division of Seattle Weekly. She will also strategize and develop the marketing of the paper and will be responsible for leading all promotional efforts.

Ms. Faust stated: “The Weekly is one of the great names in Seattle journalism. I am looking forward to using my 18 years of experience in classified and display adverting at The New York Times to deepen our relationships with present advertisers as well as develop new business in untapped categories. I value the relations I have developed in the Seattle advertising community and expect to maintain them in my new role.”

She will lend her energy, experience and strategic abilities as we continue to aggressively strengthen our successful brand, providing readers with intelligent, independent journalism coupled with unrivaled classified and display advertising.”

Previously, Ms Faust was Managing Director of The New York Times’ Seattle National Sales Office, a position she held for five years. Under her tenure there, Ms. Faust launched the regional office and developed $20 million in new advertising business from national and regional accounts. Prior to her Seattle position, she was Managing Director of Real Estate Advertising for The New York Times in New York. Ms. Faust began her career as a New York-based telephone sales representative for The New York Times, later supervising the entire outbound telephone sales operation for classified and display advertising.

Ms. Faust holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Kansas. She lives in Seattle with her son and daughter. Ms. Faust will begin her new position on January 28, 2002.
