Isthmus Wins Five Milwaukee Press Club Awards

Isthmus was honored in five categories in this year’s Milwaukee Press Club Contest for Excellence in Journalism:

Best single editorial, statement of editorial position or opinion: gold for Bruce Murphy’s “Less Power to the People.”

Best business story or series: silver for Marc Eisen’s “Capitalist with a Soul: Bill Linton’s Unconventional Vision for Biotech Company Promega.”

Best use of multimedia: silver for Isthmus Staff and the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communications for “Meet Madison.”

Best background, analytical or interpretive story: bronze for Judy Davidoff’s “He Smoked Some Weed as a Teenager. Now This Madison Father of Two Is Facing Deportation.”

Best public service story: bronze for Jay Rath’s “Biting Bad: Local Bedbug Infestations Wreak Havoc on Body and Soul.”
