Maui Time Editor Releases Noir-Themed Nonfiction Collection

Event Horizon Press has released a new volume of nonfiction, Stealing Cars With The Pros, written by Maui Time editor Anthony Pignataro.

Much of the book — which takes its title from a 2002 OC Weekly feature about a night Pignataro spent with two repo men — pulls from his years spent at OC Weekly and Maui Time.

“The book is a collection of some of my more noir-themed reporting since I became a reporter in January 1996,” explains Pignataro. “The stories touch on classic noir themes — cops/crooks, beautiful women, misfits, rich guys, etc. Since much of my writing for alt-weeklies has been in the first person, the book ended up being more of a memoir of my journalism career so far than I’d anticipated when I first put it together.”

The book is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
