Metro Times Celebrates 25 Years

For a quarter of a century, Metro Times has been Detroit’s
weekly alternative for news, arts, culture, music, film, food,
fashion and more. Millions of loyal readers have picked up
Metro Times every week to find out who to see, what to do
and where to go. Hard-hitting journalism, profiles of local
artists, musicians, and cultural icons and the area’s most
comprehensive club and concert listings have made it the
most sought after news and entertainment resource for metro
Detroiters.

In commemoration of 25 years of
publishing, Metro Times is releasing an exclusive collector’s
edition 25th Anniversary Issue on Wednesday, October 19th.
This special issue will offer a look back on a quarter of a
century of covering the ins and outs of the Motor City as well
as many unique features and stories. One notable feature is a
special pullout section featuring 25 Detroit artists and their
interpretations of Metro Times.

In conjunction with the
25th Anniversary Issue, Metro Times is also throwing a gala
anniversary celebration. The Metro Times 25th Anniversary
Bash takes place at Fifth Avenue Downtown in Detroit on
Friday, October 21st. The venue will play host to an
impressive lineup of local rock, r&b and dj acts, featuring live
performances by the legendary Robert Bradley’s Blackwater
Surprise, rock stalwarts The Sights and Ann Arbor upstarts
Saturday Looks Good to Me.
