New Times Names New Sales Team in Los Angeles

June 19, 2002

New Times Newspapers today named two veteran Los Angeles sales executives to head its weekly publication in LA. Jane Dalea-Kahn, former LA advertising director for Vogue magazine, has been named publisher of New Times Los Angeles. Josh Cooperman, formerly a sales executive for Clear Channel radio powerhouses KFI and KLAC, joins the paper as retail sales director. Michael Newquist continues in his role as the paper’s retail advertising director.

In addition to her work at Vogue, Dalea-Kahn served as the western advertising director for Hearst Magazines, whose titles include Redbook and Town & Country. Prior to that, she was the national advertising director at LA Weekly.

Former New Times LA publisher Jim Rizzi will be leaving New Times after contributing many years of work toward the company’s growth in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Phoenix.

New Times is the nation’s largest chain of alternative newsweeklies, with papers in Phoenix, Denver, Miami, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Oakland/Berkeley, Los Angeles, Broward/Palm Beach, Cleveland, St. Louis and Kansas City. The company also owns the Ruxton Group, which handles national advertising sales for 28 newsweeklies in major metropolitan markets.
