The second annual AAN Publishers Conference will be held Nov. 13-14 at the Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston, S.C. The program will feature two or three big-picture speakers and lots of time for formal and informal discussion among the publishers who attend. The complete schedule will be announced by mid-October.
Last year’s conference was very highly rated, with a few of the attendees calling it the “best AAN event” they ever attended.
“The conversations and speakers helped me see more clearly our mission and future direction for our company,” one said in a post-conference survey. “When you spend your days in a rat’s maze, it’s nice occasionally to get to peer out over the walls and glimpse where you might be going.”
Registration is limited to one publisher or senior manager from each member paper, or two partner-owners from the same paper. Total attendance will be strictly limited to 40 people.
The registration fee is $375 per person, and the AAN room rate for the event is $189, which is about half of what the Charleston Place normally charges.
