Madison, WI — Get ready to celebrate when Kelly Starr-King and Mike Drake declare their love for each other — and Mother Earth — in a “sustainable” wedding ceremony at Isthmus Green Day, Saturday, April 17 at 4 pm

Kelly and Mike’s story is sweet. They first met when their daughters played basketball together.

“We became close friends, almost like family, for about seven years, so the thought of dating felt very strange. Once we got beyond those feelings, we both experienced an immense outpouring of love and affection. That was five years ago, on Mike’s birthday, and we’ve never looked back,” said Kelly.

Kelly and Mike are staunch sustainable advocates; both have family backgrounds rooted in kindness to nature and the earth.

“We’re happy that the sustainable movement is here to stay. When we were offered the Isthmus eco-friendly wedding, we were very excited because we knew we had so much to learn about creating and celebrating such an event in an earth-friendly way,” said Kelly.

Kelly is CEO of Drake & Company and Mike is director of national retail sales at Top Promotions. To learn more about them and their upcoming wedding, visit www.thedailypage.com/green/wedding.
