Mayshark is getting married this summer, and his fiancee has a job in New York.

Metro Pulse also has a new managing editor, Scott McNutt, who has been the alt-weekly’s monthly humor columnist. McNutt started his new job in March.

Carey has been a reporter at The Tennessean, the National Public Radio affiliate WPLN-FM 90.3 and was co-founder of, an online business and political news site.

Carey is the author of Fortunes, Fiddles & Fried Chicken: A Business History of Nashville. He is working on a second book on the history of Vanderbilt University.
