Andrea Walcher, Salt Lake City Weekly’s marketing manager, has been promoted to a newly created operations manager position.
Andrea has been an integral part of the City Weekly family for five-and-a-half years. Over that time she has worn many hats, including receptionist, salesperson, human resources employee and, for the last two years, the paper’s first full-time marketing person. She developed and implemented the paper’s first comprehensive marketing plan, which included a multitude of sponsorships, events, and radio/TV advertising.
The paper’s continued growth has created the need for a position to manage all the operational aspects of the paper, including human resources, building/office management, and project management. Based on her past experience and solid performance, assuming this new position was a natural accession for Andrea.
