PHILADELPHIA–Consumers nationwide now have the ultimate find – an-apartment tool.

While in a neighborhood, mobile users can now see apartments for rent using cell phones equipped with global positioning system (GPS) technology.

Smarter Agent, the premier provider of “location-aware” mobile real estate applications, is pre-announcing the launch of APTS FOR RENT to the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies (AAN) members.

AAN members can benefit by putting their advertiser’s classified listings on the Smarter Agent platform, branded with their masthead.

APTS FOR RENT by Smarter Agent instantly returns information about the closest apartments for rent to a user’s cell phone. Information includes rental price, apartment features, pictures and instant connection to the apartment owner to schedule an appointment.

“Because of Smarter Agent’s patented GPS mobile real estate searching, once a user downloads the application, every time they engage it, their wireless phone automatically locates where they are and instantly provides them with robust and daily updated apartment information,” said Brad Blumberg, CEO of Smarter Agent.

More people will search for real estate from mobile devices than from a desktop in the near term. Smarter Agent patented and currently has applications available on carrier decks such as SPRINT. This is not a sms/text message or a shrink an internet sites to fit on your cell phone application. Smarter Agent’s APT FOR RENT appears on a carrier’s coveted deck where all the action is. Consumers download Smarter Agent just as they would a ring tone or game and get a robust experience designed specifically for mobile users.

Almost every apartment searcher has a cell phone. “What better way is there to search than by clicking and seeing apartments – for rent near you – from your cell phone,” noted Brad Blumberg, CEO of Smarter Agent.

“I would have loved this tool when I was looking for apartments. Plus I advertised exclusively in alternative newspapers when I owned apartment buildings. I know the power and the unique classified offerings of the alternate press. Bringing print to the web was the first extension for the alternative press, mobile is certainly next. Smarter Agent has created a tool focused on real estate that is a win for the paper, advertiser and us,” added Blumberg.

The mobile application has a lot of features that makes finding apartments fun and easy to use.

For example, Smarter Agent includes a GPS mapping function. By selecting ‘Map It,’ the user can see his or her location and all of the apartments for rent in an area on an interactive map. In addition, the user can search by city and state to research multiple areas of interest, save properties to their phone, or call the listed number for more information right from the application.

Smarter Agent covers all major markets in the United States. The consumer can conduct unlimited apartment searches when they are in the neighborhood where they want to live, or by entering a city, zip code or address of an area they are planning to move.
