Carrie Simison will take over as publisher on Sept. 17. John Weiss will assume role as chair of Colorado Publishing House, the parent company of the Independent.
Martinez will replace Kirk Woundy, who announced his departure in January.
More than $6 million was collectively raised for local nonprofit charities through the 2014 year-end “Give!†campaigns held by Willamette Week, Colorado Springs Independent, Monterey County Weekly and INDY Week.
