After only a year on the job, Jim Nesbitt steps down as editor of Riverfront Times, the St. Louis Business Journal reports. The business journal also reports other changes in staffing at the New Times paper in St. Louis, including canceling the column "Short Cuts" and making Associate Editor Randall Roberts a staff writer.

Jane Dalea-Kahn, former LA advertising director for Vogue magazine, has been named publisher of New Times Los Angeles, New Times announced today. She replaces Jim Rizzi, who "will be leaving New Times after contributing many years of work toward the company's growth in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Phoenix," the company says in a news release. Josh Cooperman, formerly a sales executive for Clear Channel radio powerhouses KFI and KLAC, joins the paper as retail sales director.

Declining ad revenues have hit New Times, forcing layoffs at several papers, including five at Miami New Times. “This year has been a dizzying year for all of us,” Editor Jim Mullin tells the Daily Business Review. The local business journal also reports that the Miami paper has rehired former publisher Michael Cohen, who recently resigned his post at New York Press.
