Pamela Polston and Paula Routly will be honored at a ceremony during the New England Newspaper and Press Association conference in February.
Seven Days has added five talented professionals to its editorial, sales and digital departments.
The editorial department now has 10 full-time staff reporters covering news, arts, food and features; the sales department now has six full-time account executives.
In selecting Seven Days as the winner of the General Excellence award among nondaily Vermont newspapers, judges wrote: "Kudos to the New Yorker of the North."
The Atlantic's James Fallows spends time in Burlington, Vt. and is impressed by the alt-weekly Seven Days.
"We can't seem to print enough hard-copy papers to meet the demand," said Seven Days publisher and co-editor Paula Routly.
Vermont's Seven Days has earned a spot on Editor & Publisher's annual "10 Newspapers That Do It Right" list.
Over the past six years, Seven Days multimedia producer Eva Sollberger has created more than 30 hours of content with 2 million views.
