Who Runs the AAN CAN Ads?

Since the AAN CAN classified network generates over 60 percent of our income, we keep close tabs on which member papers are running the ads, compiling a “compliance” report that is updated monthly.

We present a copy of the report to the AAN Board of Directors at every one of their meetings and it often generates a discussion about how we can improve the score. The most important thing we can do, of course, is contact non-compliant papers directly to see if there’s a problem and/or to remind them of the connection between placement of the ads and the continued survival of the association.

At a recent board meeting it was also suggested that perhaps posting the compliance report online for all members to see would shame chronic non-compliers into action.

So we will begin posting the report on this blog in the near future. But before we begin, I want to salute the following AAN papers that had a perfect record of compliance in our most recent report:
