AAN Membership Applications Available for 2004

Newspapers seeking membership in the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies can now obtain application forms and instructions from the AAN national office. The application deadline is March 5, 2004.

To qualify, applicant newspapers must be editorially distinct, publish excellent journalism dedicated to public service, provide a positive alternative to mainstream journalism, and be of a quality that will strengthen the character of the association.

Member newspapers will vote on each application during the annual meeting, which is held on the last day of the convention. A two-thirds majority vote is required for admission.
