Bartash Acquires New Tensor Web Press

Market Leader Increases capacity to meet growing demand

The acquisition of a new Tensor T-1400 coldset web press is cause for celebration at Bartash, the east coast’s leading coldset publication printer. Sidney Simon, owner and CEO of Bartash explained, “The increasing demand for additional press time and product type has made this the next logical step in our strategic plan for growth. This major investment in infrastructure is part of our commitment to providing publishers the best opportunities for growth, quality and economy.” Bartash is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of magazines, newspapers and niche publications and was recently rated by Publishing Executive Magazine as one of the top 20 magazine printers in the U.S.

Tom Meyer, Director of Production explained why Bartash selected this specific press to complement the company’s existing presslines, “With the addition of these 3 new 4-high towers, our entire pressroom will be equipped with Tensor equipment. Like all our presses, our new T-1400 will be equipped with QI Press Controls’ closed-loop color-to-color and cutoff systems and EPG ColorKey digital ink controls. Efficiencies gained by these improvements include less waste and increased plant capacity through faster make-readys and faster run-times. Clients are looking for capabilities that give them greater flexibility in the type of products they can publish, so we’ve configured this press to deliver a cleaner, crisper book.”

George Dunn, Assistant Production Director added, “The increased capacity that this new press represents, will enable us to expand our client base while providing the same schedule flexibility that our existing clients already enjoy. The new press includes a TENSOR H-50 folder with cross perforation and quarter-fold capabilities, and a state-of-the-art gluer for binding niche products. This press is designed to produce the highest degree of quality possible.”

“Purchasing this press demonstrates our commitment to meeting the print needs of today’s publishers,” said Eric Roberts Director of Sales. “Being able to produce great quality for our clients is a big part of the success equation, and the Tensor T-1400 is perfect for delivering award-winning quality products. Combined with our custom-tailored online offering – Bartash eDITIONs™, and our revenue-generating Bartash ROI: Response Oriented Inserts™ program, we’re prepared to partner with our clients for the long haul. The result has been an excellent response in the marketplace.”
