Let the Groaning Begin… Boise Weekly’s Fourth Annual Bad Cartoon Contest

“We can’t be doing that again,” said Editor Bingo Barnes when told of the impending contest, now in its fourth year.
“I was sick for weeks last time.”

Yes, it’s true. Boise Weekly is now in its fourth year of this grueling contest, one in which our judges seek medical attention afterward. Only, this time, they’re opening it up nationally, not just to folks in Idaho.

Bad Cartoon Contest Rules
Prizes worth tens of dollars in a variety of categories we make up later!

GRAND PRIZE WINNER gets the opportunity to publish a cartoon in Boise Weekly every week until next year’s contest.

This contest is open to aspiring or professional cartoonists of any age, gender, height or weight. Any artwork submitted will not be returned unless an SASE is included with entry. Every entry page must include name, address, phone number and any other vital information or statistics you deem necessary, including explanations and translations. Entry in this contest grants Boise Weekly the right to publish your cartoon on Dec. 7, 2005, in our Bad Cartoon issue and subsequent Boise Weekly Bad Cartoon promotional advertising campaigns. You may be ridiculed and humiliated during the judging process and in the newspaper. But that’s not really our fault, now is it?

Send your single panel or strip cartoons (no entry fee required) to: Boise Weekly, 523 Broad St., Boise, ID 83702
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE BY High Noon Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005
