New citizen journalism and premium content features cater to traditional media clients.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sept 10, 2008 – Louisville, KY, USA. Metromojo today announced a new release of the “Local Mojo” platform. Version 2 of the system allows for seamless integration of social networking features with much more robust citizen journalism and featured content delivery. The white label web site platform is now available, fully hosted and managed, via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
“We’ve always been very proud of the deep and unique feature set that the Local Mojo platform provides, and I think this new offering will be especially compelling to traditional media groups,” said CTO, Chuck Burke. “We’ve worked hard to make sure that the platform is just as attractive to print customers as it is to broadcast and radio groups; streaming content delivery and the ability to easily feature user-submitted materials are pervasive in this update.”
Metromojo’s development team spent the last several months focusing on expanded blog and authoring tools for the print media, as well as numerous content presentation tools that incorporate multimedia. New features include AJAX widgets and a wide-format, multimedia presentation tool aimed at aggregating audio, video and still photos from throughout the platform.
“The new AJAX-based navigation and presentation tools have allowed us to make the site even more intuitive for our visitors. Our evidence shows that while AJAX features often drive page views down, our user engagement increases–it’s all about the user experience,” added VP of Programming, Rob Totten. “Average session lengths on LouisvilleMojo.com are consistently over 20 minutes per, and we continue to serve roughly 250,000 unique visitors a month in our tier 2 market. I think that’s pretty amazing, and it shows that we’re making the right moves with user interface and content delivery.”
After intensive beta testing on Metromojo’s own high-traffic testbed site, version 2 features of the platform are being released into existing customer sites beginning this week. Providing the platform in a SaaS model assures clients that there will be no service interruption or effort required by them to take advantage of this upgrade.
Metromojo LLC (metromojo.com) provides hosted, managed, white label social networking and citizen journalism platforms to brands seeking to capture a large percentage of their local, online market share. Founded in 2003, Metromojo has offices in Louisville, KY and Mountain View, California.

LouisvilleMojo.com is Metromojo’s proof of leadership in the local social networking space, having dominated its market for over four years.
