OC Weekly Offers Reward to Find News Rack Assailant

OC Weekly is offering a $250 reward for info leading to the arrest of the individual(s) who brutally assaulted its news rack during the Huntington Beach riots last month:

Its name was Racky. It served us for nearly 18 years. It had two days until its retirement. And it’s now…gone. And while the Huntington Beach Police Department is busy arresting anyone and everyone who vandalized Surf City that day, they’ve yet to find the assholes who beat up on Racky again and again and again.

In addition to offering cash, editor Gustavo Arellano is offering the chance to take over his ¡Ask a Mexican! column for a week, tickets to OC Weekly‘s Decadence event, or a story hailing the informant as a hero.

Web editor Taylor Hamby tells AAN, “We’re also trying to locate the battered box and have it bronze plated and placed in our lobby.”
